Hi! This is Leslie again with my third Miss Matatabi Makers project. Time is flying and I am loving these monthly projects. I hope you’re enjoying seeing all of our creations as well!
As soon as I saw the city map fabric I knew it would have to be used for my May project. It would be perfect for the iPad case I wanted to sew. I then looked through the rest of the Miss Matatabi’s fabrics and spotted those perfect looking honeycomb dots. They have been a long time favourite of mine. I am in love with this perfect trio of fabrics.
Ta da! Here is the iPad case. I had pinned a few different cases I liked awhile ago and my favourite was the one from the Purl Bee blog. I used that as a starting point for my case. I love the pocket and I am sure Anika will find that useful for stuffing her random collections in.
I have had that awesome button for years and years. I got it from my favourite pottery shop in Japan and I finally found the perfect use for it. Yay!
And here is the back of the case. My squares are a bit wonky so please please please don’t look too closely. I love the mix of the map fabrics with the honeycomb. I also flipped some of the map fabrics upside down so wrong side is showing. The lining is the the lovely orange honeycomb dots. I also added a layer of quilt batting between the outer and inner layers for a bit more protection. Fingers crossed the iPad never gets dropped. See you in June!
