I fell in love with these two fabrics as soon as I saw them – those large stripes and the neon patchwork. I love the patterns, the brightness and the black.
I usually have a project in mind when I choose fabric but not this time. Last week I had a few ideas and then finally decided on Noodlehead’s divided basket pattern. (Anna creates the best patterns!)
The neon patchwork is a medium weight cotton linen blend, which is perfect for the outside of this basket. The stripes, a lighter weight cotton linen blend, work well for the lining. I love how these two fabrics work together.
The main reason for making this basket is so that my little one has something to hold all her stuff (books, toys, activities, etc.) in the car. The basket ended up being bigger than I thought it would and that made me happy. The plan is to keep it right beside her car seat and I am hoping that it helps her get through longer road trips. Heck, I hope all the things it holds will help her get her through short trips to the grocery store!
And those triangles! And those dots! And those colours!
